JOB Position: Desktop Engineer – L1 Support

Position Summary

As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will provide technical support to users, and will be focused on diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging desktop issues.

What are we looking for?

  • Good working knowledge of Basic Hardware, Windows 2000 Prof/Server
  • Install, Config & Troubleshoot OS/Antivirus/ Applications /Mail Management software. Install & configure application like SQL/Oracle is an added advantage
  • Should be able to handle routine LAN (TCP/IP) troubleshooting calls
  • Good at troubleshooting in mailing application.(Outlook, MS-outlook), ADS, on desktop environment is a must
  • Having exposure to any remote administration tools will be added advantage.
  • User management Adding / Installing Packages / Patches, etc
  • Understanding of the VPN tunnel set-up

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing L1 support to the end user on IT related issue and experience on Microsoft OS Windows Xp/7/8.X, 10 etc.
  • 1-2 or more years in end user/helpdesk supporting in Small and Medium environments
  • Monitoring Anti-virus update & Patch update in the user system.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Windows 8 / 10 and desktop products.
  • Installing and troubleshooting the SQL server packages like 2005/2008/2012
  • User account maintenance like password reset & unlock, disabling the accounts of resigning users, providing the different rights to user (power user or admin rights) based on the requirement.
  • Managing and maintaining the  IT asset
  • Configuring print server for easy installation of printer drivers and configuration.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting outlook related issue.
  • Supporting the team in installations of server operating systems like 2008/2012
  • Configuring and troubleshooting desktop, for their remote desktop access
  • Set-up & installation of project specific software &  Internet traffic monitoring
  • Basic Networking Knowledge on LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi, Server Operating systems, Active Directories and Email services
  • Should be ready and flexible to work in shifts.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, Coordinating with onsite users will be preferred
